I believe that governing bodies should be actively involved in protecting cultural diversity. Cultural diversity is what brings people together through learning understanding. It is important for all types of people to get a feel for what it is like in other countries, and try to understand and respect others customs and practices.
Cultural diversity is extremely important to practice and since many people do not take the initiative to promote it, it should be the governing bodies that play a big part in it. For example, it would be beneficial to take a class on learning another language for many reasons such as using it in the work place, schools, traveling, and also just in general. Next, we should be taking the opportunity to give students the chance to study abroad, as well as community service opportunities in other countries. This helps students see the beauty, tragedy, and overall what other countries have to offer. This is promoting cultural diversity and starting off respecting and understanding the way the world works by other countries at a young age. However, I can see from a different stand point of why the government bodies would not want to fund this type of promotion for cultural diversity. It is extremely costly to add a language as part of the educational curriculum, or adding studying abroad as well. But, it would make more sense to get a sense of education in other countries so that we have good relations with other countries, we can relate to them, and overall, war does not break out because we have such great communication and everybody is accepting.

I just finished creating a report on the status of education in the Dominican Republic which you will find on my Political and Economics page. I invite you to make comments on this report!
Globalization benefits the Dominican Republic immensely because of interdependence. Interdependence is when countries rely on each other to be stabilized. The Dominican Republic has trade relations with many other countries, especially the United States. The Dominican Republic's economy is not great to begin with, which makes their education poor as well; however, thankfully for globalization, many countries depend on interdependence, like the Dominican Republic, to help them with these types of problems. Globalization is a positive thing, especially in the Dominican Republic because it needs other countries to depend on for help through issues that they cannot afford because of their economy. Also, they return the favor to other countries by trading them goods that the Dominican Republic produces.
